Jessica Russell '81

Jessica Russell graduated from Fryeburg Academy in 1981, a classmate of current trustees, Shannon McKeen and Chris Gordon. Born in Augusta, Maine and raised in Fryeburg, she attended St. Michael’s College her freshman year and transferred to the University of New Hampshire in Durham to graduate in 1985, majoring in Theatre with a minor in Italian Studies. 
Jessica was an exchange student during her junior year at FA and spent a year in Rome, Italy where she became fluent in Italian and kept her connections to her host family. In 1988 she was the recipient of the Rotary Scholarship and spent a year in Glasgow, Scotland and then stayed on another year to work on the exhibition “Glasgow Girls”. It was in 1991 that she met her husband to be, Filippo at her Italian host sister’s wedding and moved to Italy. She and Filippo married in 1995 and had their twin daughters in June of 1996. Jessica works for the Canadian villa rental company called Hosted Villas as their Regional Director in Italy and Croatia. She was also a bike guide for the company Butterfield & Robinson from 1992-1995. Both her sisters, Kristen and Hilary are graduates of FA and her father Brett Russell (class of ’56) is a Board of Trustees Member Emeritus. She lives in Foligno, Italy and enjoys traveling, reading and skiing.
