HOS Parent Update-March 19, 2020
March 19, 2020
Dear FA Families & Guardians:
Today marked our first full day of remote instruction, and initial feedback from our faculty—who have risen remarkably to meet the challenge — has been positive. Our primary goal is to provide our students with the best continuity of learning possible; in the coming days and weeks, we will continue serving this aim. I commend our faculty, our students, and you as parents, for each doing your respective roles in helping to make this giant and sudden leap possible.
I would also like to inform you that the Academy is creating a standing, pick-up arrangement for course materials and food provision every Monday from 2:30-4:30 pm. Please be aware that the weekly food package is offered to any FA student who desires it. We will keep the same process as the last drive-thru pickup, requesting that families queue in the teacher’s parking lot and remain in their cars. Additionally, as a precautionary measure meant to protect all present, we will provide gloves and masks to faculty and staff members who are doing the distribution and getting items to you in your cars.
As always, thank you for your cooperation, goodwill, and support.
Sincerely,
Erin P. Mayo
Head of School
