Celebrating Multi-Cultural Diversity

At Fryeburg Academy we celebrate our multi-cultural diversity. With students from over 20 different countries, we are a true international community. Many of our international students are involved in our outstanding English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) program.

While some students come to Fryeburg for a half year or full year study abroad experience, most of our students come to the Academy with the intention of completing high school and going on to university.

Upon graduation, 99% of our boarding population goes on to study at a college or university in the United States or abroad.

International students seeking admission to Fryeburg Academy should complete and submit an application, three recommendations, all transcripts, and schedule an in-person, phone or SKYPE interview. While Fryeburg Academy does not require the SSAT, TOEFL, SLEP or any other standardized testing, the TOEF, TOEFL Jr. and SSAT will be considered as part of the student's application if submitted.

The priority application deadline is February 1st. Applications submitted after the deadline will be considered on a rolling admission basis.

Student Visa Information

Those students who follow the proper steps but have their visa application denied are eligible to have their deposit returned in full.
  • For students who are already studying in the U.S. on an F-1 visa- Upon completion of the student's current program Fryeburg Academy will contact the sending institution in order to have the I-20 transferred.

College Placement

Most international students come to Fryeburg Academy to prepare for admission to an American college or university. The whole process, which includes choosing a list of colleges, filling out the applications, writing the essay, completing special forms, and finally, deciding which college to attend, is carefully supported by a knowledgeable and experienced counselor.
