  • FA's Transition to Remote Learning

    Remote Learning. It’s the latest trend that has changed our world in response to the global health crisis— challenging schools, universities, and colleges to rapidly navigate new tools and technologies and shifting to an entirely new way of instruction. Video conferencing providers like Google Hangouts Meet, Zoom, Microsoft and WebEx are seeing a surge in use. And, according to recent statistics this past month, Zoom was the number one downloadable app, followed by Google Classroom and Google Hangouts Meet.
  • FA Math Team Captures 10th Consecutive Regiona; Championship

    On March 4, 41 of Fryeburg Academy’s top Mathletes boarded the bus for the final meet of the season at Telstar High School in Bethel Maine. With sharpened pencils and well-oiled cerebra, the varsity FA squad was on their best game against the 14 other Pi-Cone North math teams from throughout West-Central Maine. 
  • NASA Selects MEASAT1 Satellite with Fryeburg Academy’s CubeSat Experiment

    Fryeburg Academy is pleased to announce its proposed CubeSat experiment, chosen by the Maine Space Grant Consortium last fall,  will launch on the MESAT1 satellite—the very first satellite from the State of Maine. It’s one of 18 small research satellites selected by NASA to carry auxiliary payloads into space between 2021–23, and is part of NASA’s CubeSat Launch Initiative that provides opportunities for nanosatellite science and technology payloads built by universities, schools, and nonprofit organizations to rideshare on space launches.
  • Fryeburg Academy Hosts First VEX V5 Robotics Competition

    On Saturday, January 25, 2020, Fryeburg Academy welcomed 100 plus students from nine different schools from around Maine and New Hampshire to its first hosted VEX V5 Robotics Competition. The day-long event was held in FA’s Ada Cram Wadsworth Arena, where 21 robotic teams competed with the assistance of many volunteers.
  • FA’s Goldberg Gallery Presents “Drawing on Culture: Paintings and Drawings from West Africa"

    During the month of February 2020, the Goldberg Gallery at Fryeburg Academy in Fryeburg, Maine is pleased to announce that it will host a collection of watercolor paintings and drawings from West Africa by artist Dave Kobrenski.
