Distinguished Alumni Award
This award honors those alums who have rendered meritorious service to the school and/or community. Nominations are taken from the FA alumni base. A committee reviews all nominations and names the recipients at the annual FA Alumni Banquet during Reunion Weekend.

Distinguished Alumni: Don Bean '65
Don Bean, Class of 1965, is the 2025 recipient of the Distinguished Alumni Award, presented by the Fryeburg Academy Alumni Association. A lifelong educator and community leader, Don’s story began in Lovell, Maine, where he enjoyed a happy, busy childhood.
Distinguished Alumni: Mary "Beth" Grover Jones '66
The Fryeburg Academy Alumni Association presents the Distinguished Alumni Award each year during reunion weekend. A committee reviews nominations and selects an individual who – “has rendered meritorious service to the school and/or community.”

Gerald “Gay” Kiesman was honored on Saturday, August 17, at Fryeburg Academy’s Reunion Banquet with the 2019 Distinguished Alumni Award. This award is presented annually by the Fryeburg Academy Alumni Association to an alum who has rendered meritorious service to the school and/or community.
