I joined the Air Force after graduating in 1988 and became an aircraft mechanic specializing in the A-10 Thunderbolt II (Warthog), a close-air-support aircraft. Throughout my career, I was stationed at several duty stations, including RAF Bentwaters in the United Kingdom, Davis-Monthan AFB in Tucson, Arizona, and Osan Air Base in the Republic of South Korea, where I served two tours.

I have so many great memories at FA. But my favorite has to be my sophomore year when our basketball team made it to the quarterfinals. We played in the Augusta Civic Center- and got to stay as a team in a hotel! We had so many fans travel up to watch us; it was a really great atmosphere to play in.

There are too many to list, but I generally still reminisce about the times spent on the football, wrestling, and track teams. Daily practices and long bus rides with my teammates helped me form some friendships that are still as strong today as they were then.

"This is hard, because my dad has taught at the Academy for 39 years, I kind of 'grew up' in the FA community, and have so many memories! I remember being a little kid and running around the old track while my dad would time me, attending football games when he would be in the booth announcing, or exploring the old Gibson gym while he clocked games."
