FA Athletes Recognized at Annual Winter Sports Awards Night

Fryeburg Academy’s Winter Sports Awards Night was held on Wednesday evening, March 18, at the Leura Hill Eastman Performing Arts Center, where the community was brought together to celebrate a strong and successful winter season. Student-athletes, families, and coaches were gathered to recognize the hard work, commitment, and achievements of the winter programs.

One of the highlights of the evening was honoring seniors named to the All-Academic Team who maintained a GPA of 3.2 or higher while competing throughout the season. These student-athletes and their respective sports were as follows:

Fryeburg Academy athletes also earned impressive postseason recognition, with multiple students named to All-Conference and All-State Teams. In Ice Hockey, Carlin Galligan '26 and Azaela Grant '26 were named to the Girls All-State Team, while Jokubas Mostavicius '26 earned First Team All-State and Senior All-Star honors for Boys' Ice Hockey. Nordic, Alpine, and Indoor Track and Field athletes also saw strong representation in both All-State and All-Conference selections, highlighting the talent across FA’s winter teams.

Team Awards recognized athletes for their leadership, performance, and growth throughout the season. MVP honors went to Tucker Barnaby '26 and Merrik Iacozili '26 (Boys' Alpine), Valentina Farioli '26 (Girls' Alpine), Jokubas Mostavicius '26 (Boys' Ice Hockey), Jacob Eveleth '26 and Eden True '26 (Indoor Track), and William McDonnell '26 (Nordic). Coaches Awards, Most Improved, and Rising Star recognitions were also presented, with contributions from many student-athletes being highlighted:

The evening also recognized those who have demonstrated long-term dedication to Fryeburg Academy athletics. Students earning 3-Star Jackets (awarded to those who have earned three varsity letters) included seniors Alim Aitimov, Joseph DellaValla, and Quinton Moore. Several underclassmen also were recognized:
