Fryeburg Academy's Magical "42 Street" Musical Comes to a Close

Since July, Fryeburg Academy’s student performers have spent countless hours tapping, rehearsing, and refining their skills that powered this year’s production of "42nd Street." Their dedication—paired with the work of more than 65 cast and crew members—brought dazzling choreography and lively characters to life on the stage.

Emily Holden, the musical's choreographer, said it best:

“They pushed beyond what they thought they could do. Every hour they put in showed up on that stage.”

Led by standout performances from Lily Bryan '26 as Peggy Sawyer and Mona Wilson '27 as Dorothy Brock, and supported by a talented ensemble of singers, dancers, and backstage and pit orchestra crews, the show captured the heart and magic of classic musical theater. From advanced tap numbers to quick backstage turnarounds, every moment reflected the effort needed by great teamwork!
