4th Annual Senior Capstone Presentations Highlight Academy Students' Many Talents
- Arts
On Thursday, May 2nd, the Fryeburg Academy Certificate of Arts program held its 4th annual Senior Capstone Presentations. "The program allows students to enhance their arts training through coursework and extracurricular offerings on and off campus," says Arts Department Chair Mike Sakash. "With the guidance of one of our arts faculty mentors, students earn a Certificate of Arts in an area of their interest that accompanies their Fryeburg Academy diploma."
This year, the program enrolled 20 art students, seven of whom are graduating seniors who showcased the final wrap-up of their capstone projects during the evening's presentations. Seniors and their presentations were as follows: Soleil Huang-Dale: "Thursday Morning Music Theory Podcast;" Gideon Michael: "Perpetual Torment;" Sierra Rullman: "Painting with Meaning;" Jiwon Choi: "Music Composition;" and brothers Brian and Kevin Lucy: "From Barn to Talk Show."
"The evening's presentations are just a glimpse into the dedication and time commitment each of these students puts into their projects," says Sakash. "By the end of the program, our students have gained hands-on experience in various techniques, media, and technical areas that will better prepare them for their fields of interest. I'm proud of these students' hard work and talent each year."
