Suzy Lemire Gilmore '82

Suzy Gilmore, 61, of Kensington, New Hampshire, passed away peacefully at home on February 15, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on September 21, 1964, in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, Suzy lived a life rooted in love, adventure, and devotion to those around her. For more than 25 years, she was known and cherished as "Ms. Finniss" in her kindergarten classroom, where she shaped countless young lives with her warmth, patience, and kindness.

Suzy found joy in the simple and beautiful things in life. She was an avid hiker who loved exploring trails with her beloved dog, Nan, and closest friends. She had a deep love for her horses and found peace and happiness at the lake and camp she shared with her husband, Tiger. She and Tiger created a life filled with adventure - traveling together and enjoying motorcycle trips that brought them freedom and joy.

Above all, Suzy's greatest pride and love was her family. She adored being a mom and cherished her role as "Mimi" even more. Her love was steady, unconditional, and fierce.

She is survived by her loving husband, Tiger Gilmore; her daughters, Kimberly Lucas and her husband Derek Lucas, Lindsay Wyatt and her husband Justin Wyatt, and Morgan Finniss; her son, Eric Gilmore; her treasured grandson, Jettson Lucas; her beloved granddaughters, Ainslee Wyatt and Charlee Wyatt; her mother, Virginia Raub, sister, Jill Lemire, and aunt, Linda Zammer. She also leaves behind many dear friends, former students, and extended family who will carry her memory forward.

Visiting hours will be held on Saturday, February 21, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at Stockbridge Funeral Home in Exeter, New Hampshire.

A celebration of life will be hosted at a later date, and details will be shared with family and friends once arrangements have been finalized.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Suzy's honor to the New Hampshire SPCA, reflecting her lifelong love of animals. Also in her memory, please TAKE A HIKE whenever you can!

Suzy's legacy lives on in the children she taught, the trails she walked, the love she gave so freely, and the family (and friends who felt like family) who will forever carry her light in their hearts.
