Patricia Leach Swett of East Conway, N.H., and the past almost three years at Mineral Springs passed away on the morning of May 25, 2024, when her soul went on to higher living.
Patty was born Dec. 24, 1941, to parents Lyle and Arlene (Eileen) Leach in Fryeburg, Maine.
Patty attended schools in Fryeburg and graduated from Fryeburg Academy with her class of 1960. She attended classes at Clover Manor where she received her medication certification.
Patty was employed with many businesses throughout her life and quite often worked at two jobs to support her family. Her places of employment were Blacksmith Coffee Shop, Saunders Mill, Northland Shoe, Hicks Nursing Home, K-Mart and Mr. Butcher.
Patty was a member of the Fryeburg New Church, where she wore many hats through the years, such as chairman of Fryeburg Fair Booth; treasurer of the Parish and Women’s Alliance; Board of Trustees, secretary of trustees, along with serving on many committees.
Patty served on the Conway School Board for 10 years.
In years past, Patty enjoyed going to Chinese auctions, playing bingo, betting on the horse races at Fryeburg Fair, cooking and serving for public suppers, annual Christmas shopping trips and her family and friends. She was very much a people person. She was president of the resident council at Mineral Springs.
Patty worshipped her two children Debra Santa Maria (Michael), and John Rogers. She married Douglas Swett in 1988 and they enjoyed their many wonderful years together.
She is survived by her husband Douglas; her children, Debra (Michael) and John; siblings, Joyce Leach and Cindy Leach-Walsh (Timothy); grandchildren Aimee (TJ); Amanda (Noah); Angel; Danny; and Nate; great-grandchildren, McKenzie, Hunter, Jack, Bryson, Chloe, Wyatt, MaryJane, Noah, Natalie and Hailey.
Patty was predeceased by her parents; sister Marilyn Daigle; and brother Gordon Leach.
Many thanks goes to the “special” nurses and staff at Mineral Springs that made her feel like she was a part of their own family.
There will be a service at the Fryeburg New Church on Saturday, June 22, at 11 a.m. You may also join the service online via Zoom I.D.#85357860199. A reception will immediately follow. Her final resting place will be at the Greenhill Cemetery in East Conway.
