Patricia Gould Bove '66

Patricia Ann (Gould) Bove, previously Patricia Baker, died peacefully at her home surrounded by family on October 27, 2023, at the age of 75.

Patty was born June 1, 1948, the youngest child of Fred and Marilyn Gould. She attended Fryeburg, Maine, schools and graduated from Fryeburg Academy.

With her first husband, Ronald Baker, she raised two sons until his death in 1975.

She later married Louis Bove and moved to Portland, Maine, raising two more sons.

She ran her own cake-baking business and worked for L.L. Bean in Freeport, Maine. She returned to Fryeburg in 2006 and lived in Fryeburg Harbor until her death.

She was predeceased by her parents; a brother Stephen Gould; husbands Ronald Baker and Louis Bove; a son, Wade Baker; and a granddaughter, Ronni Marie Baker.

She is survived by sons Matthew Baker, Michael Bove and Andrew Bove; her brother, David; three step-children; and many beloved grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and their children.

She forged strong connections with family and was particularly close to her nieces Sue Richardson and Angela Smith, as well as grandchildren Casey Baker, and Cohen and Ben Bove.

Patty was a lifelong nature lover, taking long walks in the woods and fields looking for animal tracks and natural curiosities. She enjoyed fishing, baking for family and friends, tending her flower gardens, and doting on her dog Luna. Above all, she cherished being a mom to her four boys. With a quick wit and a gift for conversation, she loved mightily and was loved in return. We will miss her.

Visiting hours will take place at Wood Funeral Home, 9 Warren St., in Fryeburg on Nov. 4 from 1-3 p.m. To share memories and condolences with the family, go to woodfuneralhome.org.
