Mildred Arlene MacKay Coombs '54
Mildred Arlene Coombs, 89 of Fryeburg passed away on Thursday, April 16, 2026 at Maine Health Memorial Hospital in North Conway. She was born in North Conway, N.H. on July 27, 1936 the daughter of Forrest and Mildred Palmer MacKay.
Arlene attended local schools and on April 30, 1955 she married Percy Edward Coombs who died July 17, 2018. Arlene was a homemaker, she enjoyed having her grandchildren and family around. She also enjoyed knitting. Survivors include her son Robert Edward Coombs of Fryeburg, 2 daughters Linda Emmerson of Madison, N.H. and Susan Wiggin of Fryeburg.: 3 grandchildren BJ Whitesel, Jennifer and Kimberlee Wiggin; 7 great grandchildren Nathan, Sofia, Madeline, Benjamin, Landon, Remington and Allison.
Family and friends may attend graveside services on Saturday, May 9th at 11am at Pine Grove Cemetery, Fryeburg. In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to Fryeburg Rescue, PO Box 177, Fryeburg, Maine. Arrangements are under the care of Wood Funeral Home, 9 Warren Street, Fryeburg.
