Gertrude Eastman Leach '62

Gertrude M. (Eastman) Leach, age 80, passed away on June 26, 2024, at her home with her loving family by her side.

She was born April 3, 1944, in North Conway, N.H., a daughter of Walter and Alice (Thompson) Eastman.

Gertrude loved to read books, go camping and spend time outdoors, but most of all spending time with her family, she was known for her unique sense of humor, and had a nickname for everyone.

She was predeceased by her loving parents, Walter and Alice Eastman; her brother Melvin Eastman; and her longtime companion Ron Sheaff.

She leaves to cherish her memory her devoted children, Deena Emerson and her companion, Neal Conant; Patrick Emerson and his wife, Marcy; India Jackson and her husband, Larry (Foo); and Ron Sheaff Jr. and his wife, Vicki; her grandchildren, Jerrica-Lynn Frost, Matthew Frost and Heather Jackson; her great-grandson Lucas Canney (Rufus). She also leaves her sisters, Donna Light and Peggy Lane and her husband, Danny; along with nieces and nephews.

Arrangements are under the care of Wood Funeral Home and Cremation Services at 9 Warren St. in Fryeburg, Maine.
