George W. Baird, Jr '70

George W. Baird, Jr., age 70 of Berwyn, PA passed away surrounded by his family on April 15, 2022 after a lengthy battle with cancer. He was born on August 13, 1951 in Baltimore, MD to the late George W. Baird, Sr and Jane Edsall Baird. He is survived by his beloved wife of 36 years, Joanne (Cook) Baird; children Julie and Will (Amanda); and grandchildren Cameron, William & Grace. He is also survived by his sister Nan O'Brien of Marietta, GA.

George was a graduate of Fryeburg Academy in Fryeburg, ME after which he earned an associates degree from Brandywine College in Wilmington, DE. George was a co-founder, owner and president of Baird & Rudolph Tire Co. in Malvern, PA for more than 40 years.

George loved to travel with his wife and children and they enjoyed homes in Lake Wallenpaupack, Long Beach Island, and currently New Smyrna Beach, Florida. George was a proud patriot and military veteran who served in the U.S. Army Reserve as a medic.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend George's life celebration service on Friday, April 22, 2022 at 12 Noon at Mauger-Givnish Funeral home 24 Monument Avenue Malvern, PA. Family and friends may visit from 11am-12 Noon. Internment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Tunnel to Towers Foundation at donationsupport@t2t.org.
