Elsie Reuning Fox '44

Elsie R. Fox, 97, of Princeton Junction, NJ, died May 26,2024.

She loved all critters, stuffed toys, flowers, swimming, dancing, painting, singing, traveling, friends and family. She especially liked to talk and take pictures of everything.  You didn’t get away without a story and picture taken.

Early Years and Immigration:  Born in Giessen, Germany, Elsie was the beloved daughter of Dr. Karl and Elsie Reuning. In 1931, her family immigrated to the United States, where she would later become a proud U.S. citizen on May 26, 1948. Her upbringing in Swarthmore, PA, shaped her compassionate spirit and zest for adventure. She got married there to Rodman S Fox on December 24, 1955. They had two boys, Karl and David, and an afterthought a girl, Alice.

She loved critters so much that she took a butterfly with them from New Jersey to Florida for the winter. In her youth she would take stay cats and give them a bath, she didn’t keep that up for very long. 

She is survived by her husband, Rodman Fox, sons and daughters-in-law, Karl and Melcy Fox, David and Anna Fox, daughter Alice Fox, grandchildren Daniel Stahlschmidt, Calvin Fox, Marie Stahlschmidt and son-in law, Dustin Nahale and great grandchildren, Naomi Nahale and Kiana Nahale.

A private visitation will be held at Kimble Funeral Home 1 Hamilton Ave, Princeton, NJ on Sunday, June 2, 2024 from 11am-12pm.  A graveside service will be at Rocky Hill Cemetery in Rocky Hill, NJ on Monday, June 3, at 1pm.
