Ellery Lawrence '74

Ellery P. “Putt” “Ell” Lawrence, 69, formerly of Bridgton and E. Stoneham, and most recently of Turner, died Thursday, October 30, 2025, at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston.

He was born on January 16, 1956, a son of Charles and Pauline (Littlefield) Lawrence. He attended elementary school in N. Fryeburg and graduated from Fryeburg Academy. After high school, Ellery served in the U.S. Army.

Ellery spent most of his working career in construction, most notably with the Sheridan Construction Corporation for several years. His recent stint being Camp Wildwood in Bridgton for about 8 years and left with some very close friendships.

He enjoyed time spent in the outdoors and hunting and snowmobiling as a younger man. He loved going to his kid’s sporting events when they were young and most recently, his grandchildren’s when he could. He enjoyed get-togethers, the more the better, sharing a cold Budweiser and time at the track rooting for his son-in-law.

He is survived by his daughter, Melinda Rowe and her husband, Ben, of Turner, and her daughter, Bella Brill; a son, Charles Lawrence and his wife, Nikki, of Franklin, TN, and their children, Hailey and Brayden; his sister, Colie Gilks of Worcester, MA; the mother of his children, Dora Leilua, of West Valley, Utah; and his beloved grand dog, Fred.
