Donald Wesley Trafford, 58, passed away July 17, 2024.
He was born on September 25, 1965, son of the late Donald and Virginia (Juth) Trafford in Portland, ME. He grew up in a large family in East Baldwin, graduating from Fryeburg Academy and attending the University of Southern Maine. He followed his passion as a fire fighter beginning with Hiram Fire Department, Standish Fire Department and Scarborough Fire Department and ultimately retiring as a Lieutenant with Westbrook Fire Department. He enjoyed going to the lake with friends and spending time at the camp with his family. His children: Kyle, Jenna and Cooper were the light of his life. He loved being on the sideline cheering for Jenna and Cooper as they participated in various sports activities.
Donny is survived by his wife, Shelly; children, Kyle, Jenna, and Cooper; siblings, Donna (Darryl), Darryl (Susan), Deborah (Harry), Dean (Dolores), Darlene (Clayton); sister-in-law, Robyn Williams-Stanley and mother-in-law, Jean Williams; brother-in-law, Eric Reny; many nieces and nephews, Chris Trafford, Katie Fadden, Brian Trafford, Brianna Payton, Ally Payton, Blake Payton, Jordan Trafford, Cameron Trafford, Casey Leavitt, Benjamin Stanley, William Stanley, Parker Reny, and Lacey Thornton.
He is predeceased by his parents, Donald and Virginia, father-in-law Robert Williams, sister-in-law Raelyn Reny, brother Daniel and nephew Nick.
A memorial gathering will take place from 2-6 p.m., Friday, July 26, 2024, at the Portland Elks Club, 1945 Congress Street, Portland.
In lieu of flowers, a fund is being established at the South Portland Evergreen Credit Union for the Trafford family.
