Diane Burnell Merrill '83

Diane Burnell Merrill of Lovell, left this life and went on to her next adventure on November 15, 2025 at 5:15 a.m. after a 14-year battle with a hereditary disease. She was born on May 17, 1965, just one week before her loving husband.

Diane always had food, stories and love to share. She opened her heart and home to many in her 60 years on this earth, and those she met can attest to the strength in which she lived her life. She had a charisma and personality unwilling to be silenced. Diane loved getting on her husband’s Harley, blasting music and going for a long ride. Never forget the summer parties by the pool or weekends camping out with friends. She lived the life she wanted, despite what medical professionals expected of her.

Diane is survived by her husband and partner of 40 years, Jeff Merrill; daughter Mandy Merrill; son Michael Merrill; daughter-in-law Jennifer Mason Merrill; sisters-in-law Deb Merrill and Lucinda Dennison; and father-in-law David Merrill.

She was predeceased by her parents Wallace and Shirley Burnell of Fryeburg at an early age, she learned the value of the bond outside of family. Friendship. Those who have known her throughout the years, can be at peace knowing she passed with her love for them in her heart.

As Diane wished, there will be no funeral services held. There will be a celebration of life held at a later date.
