Christopher McFarland '95

Christopher M. McFarland age 50, passed away peacefully at his home after long fought health battle on Tuesday Oct. 7, 2025, surrounded by his friends and family.

He was born Sept. 19, 1975, in New Hampshire and grew up in Fryeburg Harbor where he graduated from Fryeburg Academy in 1995. He went on to shortly serve in the U.S. Army followed by attending the University of Presque Isle. During that time, he met his wife Kim at a dance at the Waterford Fair Grounds, they were married for 24 years.

Chris worked for Bath Iron Works for over 10 years. He then went on to get his class A CDL. He started work for Drew Corp hauling chips and logs. He then worked for W.D. Matthews hauling heavy equipment which he absolutely loved but medical issues pushed him into early retirement.

Chris was an avid outdoorsman who loved everything to do with hunting and fishing, and he loved talking about it equally as much to anyone who would listen. He was an honorary Maine Guide and a licensed Hunter Safety Instructor.

Chris was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and friend. His presence lit up any room he walked into, and he will be greatly missed by many.

He was predeceased by his father Roger McFarland.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife Kim (Wyman) McFarland; his daughters Emma and Jordan along with her fiancé Sean; his two granddaughters Sadie and Peyton; his mother, Doriann Robinson; brother, Tommy McFarland; and nephew Tristan; as well as many aunts, uncles, family and friends.

The family will hold a celebration of life on Oct. 26, 2025, from 2-5 pm. at the Silver Spur, 272 Lewiston St., Mechanic Falls. In lieu of flowers those wishing may make a donation in Christopher’s memory to the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife 41 State House Station, Augusta, ME 04333-0041.
