Carolyn Roberts Libby '58

Carolyn Libby of Fryeburg, Maine, passed away on Sept. 24, 2023, from a long illness. Carolyn was born in North Conway, N.H., on Dec. 8, 1940, to the late Harry and June Roberts of Fryeburg.

Carolyn grew up in North Fryeburg, Maine, and graduated from Fryeburg Academy, Class of 1958. She was an active Girl Scout leader and was involved with her local church. She loved to travel throughout the United States as well as abroad. Her journeys always led her home to Fryeburg to family and friends.

Carolyn was an avid crafter as well as exceptional cook and baker. She loved to share her talents with her grandchildren and many others. Her hospitality will be missed. She loved to entertain and to plan special meals along with a special theme for every event.

Carolyn collected a very large assortment of nativities from all over the world. She loved to display her collection to share with others. Family and friends where the most important thing in Carolyn’s life, she will be sorely missed by all her loved ones.

Carolyn is survived by her husband of 47 years Jeffrey Libby of Fryeburg; siblings, Roger (Carol) Roberts, Harry Roberts Jr., Aloha (Alex) Kelley, Ike (Ruth) Roberts and Jeff (Sue) Roberts; children, Justine (Tom) Kiernan, David (Michele) Wakefield, Debra (Spencer) Seeley and Roger Alan Roberts (Godson); grandchildren, Jeremy (Michelle) Butler; Jesse (Laurie) Pomeroy; Chantelle (Chris) Mickey; and Diana (Zak) Gainer; great-grandchildren, Jack, Lindsey, Kyleigh and Riley; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

She is predeceased by brother and sister in law Phillip (Wanda) Roberts.

A celebration of life will be held on Oct. 14 at 11 a.m. at the North Fryeburg Community Chapel at 3 North Fryeburg Road in Fryeburg, Maine 04037, Pastor Louise Malliett officiating.

Grave sight ceremony will be determined at a later date.
