Bernard Farrington, Jr '94

Bernard Farrington Jr “Bub” or “Bernie”, age 51, of West Baldwin, passed away unexpectedly on 11/12/2025 as the result of a tragic accident. His sudden loss left an immeasurable void in the hearts of everyone who knew and loved him.

Born on 10/29/1974 in Bridgton, he grew into a man defined by his loyalty, generosity, and unshakeable work ethic. He built his life around two things: the people he loved and the work he took pride in.

A talented diesel mechanic, he had a gift for understanding engines in a way few people ever could. If it ran, roared, or rolled, he knew exactly what to do with it. His knowledge of automotive work was unmatched — he was the one everyone went to for answers, advice, and the kind of expertise that only comes from passion. Beyond the garage, he also spent many years working as a cook in few establishments, where he brought the same precision, pride, and heart into every dish he made.

He shared a deep love of cars and racing with his father, brother, and nephews. Drag racing wasn’t just a hobby — it was a bond between generations, a thrill he cherished, and one of his greatest joys. Whether he was watching races, helping tune a vehicle, or standing alongside his family at the track, he was truly in his element and loved every second of it.

At home, he was the steady foundation of his family. As the legal guardian and father figure to his 9-year-old grandson, Connor, he played a vital and loving role in his daily life. His patience, strength, and devotion were evident in every moment they shared. He worked tirelessly to provide for his family, always putting their needs before his own.

He is survived by his loving wife, Diane Vladyka, his (step)children; George Stewart, Jessica L’Hommedieu and Jennifer L’Hommedieu along with his cherished grandson, Connor. He also leaves behind his parents; Bernard Farrington Sr and Nyoka Johnson, his brother; Tony Farrington and his nephews; Kyle and Shane Farrington along with a niece Cierra Farrington. Bernie had many extended family members, coworkers, and friends who will forever feel the weight of this loss.

He will be remembered for his sharp humor, his unwavering loyalty, his incredible skills, and the way he made everyone around him feel supported and cared for. His legacy will live on in the engines he brought back to life, the endless breakfast meals he prepared at Fryeburg House of Pizza, and the countless memories he created with those he loved.

The family will received friends and family on Sunday November 23, 2025, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at the Woods Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 9 Warren St Fryeburg. To make an online condolence please visit www.chandlerfunerals.com
