Fryeburg Academy Senior Recognized as National Merit Commended Student

Fryeburg Academy is proud to announce that senior Brady Chappell has been named a Commended Student in the 2026 National Merit Scholarship Program. Chappell joins approximately 34,000 students nationwide recognized for their exceptional academic promise.

“Those being named Commended Students have demonstrated outstanding potential for academic success,” said a spokesperson for the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC). “These students represent a valuable national resource, and recognizing their accomplishments—as well as the key role their schools play in fostering their academic growth—is vital to the advancement of educational excellence in our nation.”

Fryeburg Academy Head of School Joseph R. Manning added, “We are incredibly proud of Brady’s hard work and achievement. Being recognized as a Commended Student by the National Merit Scholarship Program is a reflection of his dedication and hard work. This recognition also highlights the commitment of our faculty to supporting students as they strive for excellence.”
