FA Alum Tyler Bartick ’24 Inspires Future Aviators

Fryeburg Academy students recently had a firsthand look at where dedication and opportunity can lead when FA alum Tyler Bartick ’24 returned to campus on Tuesday, December 16th.  Now a cadet at the United States Air Force Academy, Tyler visited Mr. Laskin’s Aviation classes to share his inspiring journey in aviation.

Tyler’s journey began at Fryeburg Academy through the Computer Science, Aviation & Technology Program, where hands-on learning and real-world applications helped turn an early interest in flight into a focused goal. During May Term in his ninth-grade year, Tyler was introduced to the world of aviation. With continued support from FA and a partnership with the Eastern Slopes Aviation Academy, he went on to earn his pilot’s license while still in high school—an achievement that set him apart and prepared him for the rigor of the Air Force Academy.

During his visit, Tyler spoke candidly with students about discipline, perseverance, and taking advantage of opportunities early. He encouraged aspiring students to work hard and trust the process, reminding them that big goals often begin in classrooms just like theirs. Tyler now hopes to one day fly fighter jets for the U.S. Air Force, and his visit served as a powerful reminder of what’s possible when you make the most of every opportunity.
