A New Chapter for the Bion R. Cram Library & Learning Commons

There's a lot happening in FA's library this year! We're giving the space a fresh look with new furniture, more flexible spaces, and longer weekday and weekend hours, all with the goal of making the library a place our entire community can use and enjoy.

A new stage platform creates a welcoming spot for guest speakers, music, poetry readings, and other small, intimate gatherings. Throughout the Learning Commons, students can find comfortable spaces to study, work together, or meet with friends. Need a quieter place to focus? Private rooms with closed doors are available in the back of the library.

Additionally, with a new door providing direct access to the outdoors, the library now makes it easy to step outside and enjoy the tables and umbrellas with friends on nice days.

And opening soon: The Cram Café! Faculty, staff, and students will be able to grab a coffee from the new coffee bar, along with nutritious salads and sandwiches for a quick meal or snack during the school day or after hours. Pictures coming soon!

We're excited to welcome Emily Baker as our new librarian. A local community member and USM graduate, Emily joins us after four years as Gould Academy’s librarian. She’s passionate about creating a welcoming space and building connections with students and faculty. She’ll also teach two classes, and her daughter, an 11th grader, is joining the FA community this year.

We look forward to making the library a more active part of daily life at FA—a place to study, connect, create, grab a coffee, or simply spend time together. Stop by and check it out!
