FA Students Selected for the 2021 Maine All-State Music Festivals

Five FA music students were selected to join this year’s Maine Jazz All-State and Band and Chorus All-State Festivals that will take place on January 29th, February 5th, and 6th and the third week in May, respectively.
Students were required to submit audition videos playing various challenging techniques and repertoires and were critiqued by judges for each instrument and voice part.

Brendan Simkins ’21 and Simon St. Pierre ’21 were both chosen to join the Maine Jazz All-State Festival. Simkins was the only trumpet player to be selected for the All-State Jazz Combo, while St. Pierre took the lead alto saxophonist position for the All-State Honors Jazz Band.

Additionally, sophomore Ayannah Ward ’22 earned a spot with the All-State Chorus for the second year in a row. Freshmen clarinet players Kevin Lucy ’24 and Brian Lucy ’24 (bass clarinetist) were selected for the All-State Band. Congratulation to all of these students for their outstanding work!
