12. Harvey Dow Gibson Athletic Center & Ada Cram Wadsworth Arena
The Harvey Dow Gibson and Ada Cram Wadsworth Arena opened in 2007. Over three times larger than the former Gibson Gym, the new athletic center and field house is one of the finest athletic facilities in the state of Maine. This ten million dollar state of the art facility contains three full sized basketball courts, a modern fitness center, eight locker rooms, a large wrestling room, a trainer's room, athletics offices and a conference room.
Designed by Harriman Associates and built by Sheridan Corp, the Harvey Dow Gibson Athletic Center and Ada Cram Wadsworth Arena was dedicated on August 18, 2007. The building retains the Gibson name due to a generous donation by his niece, Mrs. Woodbury of North Conway, NH. The arena is named for Ada Cram Wadsworth, sister of Bion R. Cram, Class of 1933 and for whom the library was named.
