International Boarding Tuition

  • International Boarding tuition includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner.  Meals are available in the dining hall. 
  • An additional fee of $3,500 is required for all international students. This fee covers the intensive and specialized support provided by FA’s Center for International Students: TOEFL preparation and testing, college counseling, and college writing instruction.

Apply in 3 Easy Steps:

Step 1: Please fill out our online application.


Step 2: Please submit three recommendations and all transcripts.  

  • Our school accepts the SSAT (preferred assessment), TOEFL, or SLEP for standardized testing results. Standardized tests are not required for admission but will be considered if submitted.
  • The priority application deadline is February 1st. Applications submitted after the deadline will be considered on a rolling admission basis.
  • Recommended TOEFL (or equivalent) scores: 
    • Grade 9: 65 or higher
    • Grade 10: 75 or higher
    • Grade 11: 80 or higher
    • Grade 12: 90 or higher
  • Students who have not had an opportunity to take the TOEFL exam (or equivalent) should discuss this with their Fryeburg Academy Admissions Counselor during the interview.


Step 3: Schedule an in-person or Zoom Interview.

  • We request on-campus or Zoom interviews for all applicants. Please email our Admission Team or call (207) 935-2013 to arrange for a Zoom interview.
  • Interviews/campus tours take approximately 2 hours.
  • In-person interviews may be scheduled on Wednesdays.
